The Business-Minded Designer, Matthew West

I’m a graphic designer in Jacksonville, Florida who is focusing on web development for businesses. I’ve been designing websites since the late 1990s when a design house I worked for expanded into the budding internet.

Since then I’ve been learning new coding languages and techniques daily. I’m rock-solid with xhtml/css as well as organic SEO. I setup and analyze traffic reports in any number of ways to help guide website upgrades. I’m fully capable with Drupal installations and plug-in/theme integration. Gaining steady experience with Wordpress too. Of course I use the full Adobe Creative Suite as well as QuarkXPress and other support software on a daily basis. I’m getting more and more involved with editing PHP and looking toward the day when I am fully proficient. I can easily integrate existing javascript libraries/plugins where needed. As you can see I enjoy learning new tools and techniques which help me to offer a better service to my clients.

I love to design. Whether it’s a new logo, a brochure, website redesign or Legos, Lincoln Logs or wood train layouts. I’ve been developing my skills in internet, print and advertising design as a freelancer and employee for over 15 years in Central and North Florida.
